Symbiosis Of Medieval and Electro

Since 1999 you will find Wolfenmond in Dark Clubs, as part of Medieval and Gothic festivals and events. The group founded in Marburg has a well-known name beyond the borders of Germany.

Their inspiring stories full of mysticism make a personal mark on their concerts. Their guests are invited to follow Wolfenmond on a travel through Scandinavia. They are opening our eyes to former times and ancient sagas.

In over 14 years of band history the group has well developed. Wolfenmond has made its debut with performing traditional medieval music, which you can find on the first two releases („Mantica“, 2001 and „Finisterre“, 2002). More and more the musicians of Wolfenmond were starting to compose their own songs following their historical foundation. Under contract of Trisol Music group, one of the biggest German independent labels, Wolfenmond has pusblished further album: “Wintersturm” (2003) and “Flammenspiel und Schattenklang” (2005) were quickly sold out and re-released in remastered versions.

With “Sagas” Wolfenmond was loosing one’s bonds of traditional medieval music and published a most successful cd/dvd double package. After a severe injury of Christo the group had to follow a compulsory break. Since then their music is treading new paths. With the great support of their friends (such as Ingo Hampf of SUBWAY TO SALLY and Matthias Ambré, ASP) the first symbiosis of medieval and electro sounds was born. The acoustic melodies were mixed with electro sounds and released on their next album “Neumond”.

Today Wolfenmond is performing this marvellous symbiosis on stage. Dark electro sounds are accompanying shawm, hurdy gurdy and bagpipes. A powerful womans voice and flutes are singing touching melodies. The percussionist Tambor is able to match the driving electro beats with passion.

Wolfenmond never forgot its historical roots. On stage Wolfenmond is uniting the best of both worlds: Dark romantic texts and the sound of historic instruments with inspiring and driving and danceable electro music. When the fog is lifting you can throw a glance at the darkness. Then it is time of new departures with the most powerful Wolfenmond ever:
